  • How does a Medicare Agent Get Paid?
December 1, 2020

We emphasize that our services are absolutely free to our clients, which often brings up the question….” well then how do you get paid?” That’s a very important question because knowing how someone gets paid can show if they may be biased and recommending a plan to you because it is good for THEM but not necessarily for YOU.

As a licensed Medicare Insurance Agency, our job is to educate our clients on how Medicare works, and then assist them in finding the right plan for their specific situation. When we make a recommendation to you and you allow us to enroll you in that plan, the insurance company then pays us a small commission for all of our work. Its important to note that you don’t have to pay anything additional to work with us, so you’re getting all of our expertise at no cost to you whatsoever. What a great deal!

Benefits of Working with a Medicare Insurance Broker

  • The rates you pay for your insurance are exactly the same
  • Agents have collective data about insurance carriers that you may not have access to, such as rate trends
  • Only Independent Medicare insurance agents like us can offer a variety of plans so there is no bias when we recommend which Medigap, Medicare Advantage or Part D drug plan is right for you.

Independent Medicare brokers are insurance agents who are paid by the insurance companies. Your monthly premium for your policy includes a commission built-in for your agent. If you enroll through an agent (Medicare broker), the insurance company pays that commission, and you get all of the support provided by that agent.

If you enroll through the insurance company, the company keeps the commission and you lose all of the free, extra services that we listed above. You pay the same price, but you get much less value.

Why working with an insurance broker might be best

At Lehigh Partners Senior Benefits, we help you understand Medicare and provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision.

We are also able to provide you with information like financial ratings and rate trends that you may not be able to find on your own.

And only independent brokers offer unbiased opinions on plans from different Medicare companies so you can feel comfortable and confident in your decision.

As an independent Medicare insurance broker, our job is to give you an unbiased opinion on different Medicare plans. Because we are partnered with many different insurance carriers, we do not show favoritism to any carrier and represent YOU not the insurance companies.

You can rest assured that we have your best interest in mind and will recommend a plan that will not only fit in your budget, but provide you with proper healthcare coverage.

You do not pay us anything and your premiums do not increase because you have worked with us.
